Through IPBN, we have formed strategic collaborations, most notably with Edge International Lawyers and their senior partner Geoffrey Graham, whose expertise has been instrumental in navigating Portugal’s evolving residency and tax landscape. Together, we hosted informative webinars and roadshows, providing prospective investors with clarity on Portugal’s residency pathways and investment climate. Through shared knowledge and networking, Martinhal has been able to deepen relationships with key stakeholders and further its mission of promoting Portugal as a premier destination for family living. By leveraging IPBN’s platform, we have successfully enhanced our reach and strengthened our engagement with the Irish market, reinforcing Martinhal’s position as a leader in family-focused hospitality and real estate.
The IPBN membership has been instrumental in our success especially through connecting us to other professionals who have provided us with market insights and guidance on where we needed to invest next. A more recent example of this was a coffee with Brian Shanahan who lives in the Farol area of the Algarve. With Brian’s local insight we have connected a large group of homeowners in that area and added additional areas nearby Farol, such as Paderne and Messines. As a result of this, we have been able to connect with a large group of customers very quickly. Without the IPBN we would not have known about these areas. We have also received a large number of business referrals from other members due to their long tenure in the region which has been excellent.
I had the opportunity to get to know many business owners and with that networking, my company got more buzz and authority in the Tech market.

I am passionately curious, and today’s IPBN conference went a long way towards satisfying some of that curiosity. It was a thoroughly interesting conference on current themes, with some new takes!
Thank you to the IPBN for the invitation… What makes me truly inspired and hopeful for a more sustainable and socially inclusive future is that all the speakers were aligned on one thought: it's all about the people!
JGSA has participated in numerous events held by the IPBN, both in Portugal and in Ireland, namely the business trip to Cork. This close relationship has resulted in an incredible network that has allowed JGSA to interact with various members of the IPBN, creating partnerships and effective work between the parties. It has also given JGSA access to various renowned organizations through its general manager, Arnold Delville. We believe that in 2024 Ireland can be an important market to JGSA and we are truly committed to deepening this business win-win relationship.
The networking and publicity afforded by the Ireland Portuguese Business Network has been an invaluable addition to the business, attracting dozens of enquiries and offers of co-funding of projects. An audio interview by Ellis Dixon for IPBN was instrumental in projecting the Company and its founder to a wider audience. A networking event in Porto led to further enquiries and the AGM held in Lisbon in 2023 reintroduced me to some old friends as well as meeting new ones, all of whom have been hugely encouraging in support of this new property business. The wide membership of IPBN also is a benefit, its non-clique approach and range of events and meetings has helped me network with a group that is not totally as property obsessed as I have become!
Being part of IPBN genuinely feels like an extension of being Irish!! There's always someone you can help, and always people in the network looking out to help you. Over the last 12 months we have had a tough time as a company with various delays to our project, but all through this period Arnold and his team went out of their way to promote, interview and feature our achievements. This has a profound effect in these early days, and we couldn't be more grateful for the support.
Actively participating in networking events in Porto and attending an IPBN member meet in the Algarve, I've extended my reach and forged valuable connections. As a big advocate for the IPBN, I not only benefit from the network's support but also actively share information with non-members, encouraging them to join. The IPBN has played a pivotal role in my ongoing success, and without it, my professional landscape would likely be different. In 2023 I gave a master class on branding, this allowed me to have meaningful connections and strengthen my network and authority as a brand strategist among those who I can help support with my skills or refer to people I trust to help others achieve goals.
Our membership in the Ireland Portugal Business Network has proven beneficial by providing networking opportunities, market insights, business development channels, cultural understanding, visibility, access to resources, and a supportive community. These advantages collectively contribute to our business growth.
For Mobiweb at large, the IPBN has been a rich source of networking opportunities. We've connected with a variety of professionals and have laid the groundwork for several negotiations. These are discussions we anticipate will bear fruit in 2024, further solidifying the value of our IPBN membership. In summary, the IPBN has not only supported Mobiweb's immediate objectives with Perkzai but has also sown seeds for future growth and collaboration across the broader spectrum of our business activities.
Membership of the IPBN has been very beneficial for Techies Go Green in 2023. The IPBN has given us access to member businesses based in both Portugal and in Ireland and this has allowed us to grow our Techies Go Green membership as a result. Been a member of the IPBN helped give Techies Go Green the creditability we needed to build out our brand in the broader business community. We got the opportunity to present Techies Go Green at one of the IPBN Dublin members events last year. As both the IPBN and Techies Go Green are both business networks we see great synergy opportunities and look forward to working closely with the IPBN in 2024.
We are grateful for the IPBN's support in helping us navigate the Irish market ecosystem. During this first year of membership, we have built valuable connections with Irish companies, and we have developed a good relationship with an IPBN member in the energy sector; we are currently working with that company to explore opportunities where both companies can cooperate.
In 2023, our membership in the IPBN catalysed a remarkable 50% growth in our exports to Ireland compared to 2022. This achievement is a testament not just to our strategic focus on the Irish market in conjunction with Portugal, but also to the invaluable resources and connections provided by the IPBN. Through the network, we gained unprecedented access to industry insights, mentorship opportunities, and collaborative platforms. These resources were instrumental in refining our Talent Portal Program Plan, where the Irish market is a pivotal component. We are excited to continue this journey, exploring new opportunities and contributing to the collective success of the IPBN community.
Being a member of several business associations and Portuguese organizations, I must say that I am truly impressed by the dynamism and pace of IPBN. Despite being associated with some of the largest national organizations for years, I have never obtained as much benefit and made such valuable contacts as I have in just a couple of months of being a member of IPBN.

[We] could never have imagined how helpful and instrumental Arnold Delville and the IPBN was in guiding our research into whether to set up in Portugal. Arnold's list of connections was incredible and every time I contacted him he would establish yet another round of contacts with the IPBN for me to engage with… I spent a week working in the Algarve in October and the network office there was equally as helpful in connecting me with members. It has really been such a progressive and helpful community for [us] to join and we are proud to be members. We joined the IPBN to access the dynamic Irish business network in Portugal and whereas the pandemic has limited the opportunities to meet in person we have started a partnership with a fellow member and look forward to extending this partnership to other members in 2022 and beyond.
